    Fabric Remnants question

What's the magic formula for knowing the length and width of the fabric remnants on Dutch's site?

For example: 3 yards, 7.5" I would assume to be 3 yards long and 7.5" wide correct?
1 yard, 1" I would assume to be 1 yard long and 1" wide correct?

And if it lists 2 yards with no numbers after it I assume it's 2 yards long and full-width of what ever the bolt width is correct? I see he has some NylonD1.6 remnants, but I don't see that listed as a normal fabric, does anyone know how wide that is normally?

I've got a Costco throw I'm trying to make into a top quilt and I just need enough material to make a sewn channel along the bottom for a draw cord. As such it needs to be a really thin fabric that bunches well. Anyone have a recommendation on a good fabric to use for that? Thinking of Argon 67 or 90 perhaps.

Does Dutch sell the small draw cord for quilts and ditty bags? Don't see it on his site, would be a good addition I think...or is that on the new site?

I beleive it means it is 3 yard and 7.5" as in , a little less than 3yds and one foot long. I would assume that the fabric is full width. Atwood microcord should be fine as drawcord . most use shock cord for the primary suspension of quilts, and a small cord to bunch the ends.

The remnants are labeled as the length. So if you order 3 yards, 7.5", you get a piece that is that long by whatever the width of the fabric is.

    Hope that helps

The remnants I've gotten have been full width by the specified length.

A yard of fabric is always 36 inches long, but the width usually varies between 32 and 60 inches. Most fabrics are available in widths of 45 inches and 60 inches. Extra-large bolts up to 110 inches wide are available to back quilts, duvets and tablecloths. So, as posted above, the measurement given is the length
