    MD AT Trail Guide

Planning to hike the MD section of the AT at the end of May with a buddy and was wondering if anyone happens to have an MD AT trail guide that they are no longer going to be needing, or if anyone feels these are really needed at all.

    Feedback is appreciated!

    Thanks!

I used AWOL's trail guide for my entire AT hike, GA to ME. Great info to included mileage, elevation, shelters, camping spots and much more. He sells them for about 15 bucks for 2016 edition and you may be able to pick up last years for a little less. PM me your address and I will send you the MD section but it will be a couple years out of date, you may want a more up to date edition.

The trail is easy to follow, but I appreciate having all the mileages/info and maps in hand.
Awol is THE reference but you will only be using about 6 pages.
I thought this was a pretty good guide: http://www.cnyhiking.com/ATinMaryland.htm if you like hardcopy ($5).
or The GutHook app is great if you are planning on using /taking your phone--it tracks you as you walk and you can download offline maps to conserve battery.

Guthook smartphone app is good suggestion. Also, contact Awol; maybe he'd cut you a deal? Don't forget ALDHA. For about $10, you get membership and their guide in digital pdf format, which can go right on your smartphone.
