    Exped Slit Line Extreme?

Has anyone seen these up close? Exped slit line extreme

They sell a polypropylene version as the suspension on their Exped Combi hammock, but this one is made of dyneema and has a much higher weight rating. The interesting thing is that it seems to have 'eyes' braided every couple of inches where you can hook a carabiner.
I can understand having the eye on the end to support weight, but in the middle of the line? Has anyone seen these up close? Wouldn't it tend to tear apart the braiding?

Looks like the equivalent of atlas strap but with dyneema.

I'm not sure I would like to have the force pulling into the bury on that kind of angle...

No tree straps on the tree? That's not good. That rope is going to damage the heck out of the bark.

It looks like they do have a version with tree straps, though from the pictures the straps don't look quite normal.

This post spurred my interest and I put together a modified version using 7/64 amsteel. It took several attempts, but I finally have a finished product to test. It finished about 4.5' long with a fixed eye on each end, one is a locked brummel and the other is spliced like a CL, and 7 "daisy chain" loops. I'm not brave (or crazy) enough to try it on my hammock, but I hope to test it with my hammock chair (similar to AHE's bushman hammock chair) this week.

The OP is not using tree straps, as evidenced by his photos.

I was able to test for few minutes today. I'm not suggesting this for a hammock suspension because I don't see any advantages over the numerous tried-and-true suspensions, but I felt very comfortable in a 15-minute test on my chair hammock. The "daisy chains" did seem to show any appreciable stress or damage, but long-term use could prove otherwise. I'm planning to take this on a 4-day trip later this month to give it an in-the-field test. Attached are pics of how I attached the chair hammock to suspension. One side was a soft shackle to CL and the other side was soft shackle to lash-it UCR. Both sides used 1" straps around my 6x6 deck posts.
