I bought it for ground hunting when I am hunting so far back a tree stand isn't practical, but it doubles as an awesome camp chair for backpacking.
That's a handy looking hammock chair.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

I made a very simple backpack cover, gear hammock, ground cover out of a piece of treated rip stop. Its just a 3'×4' piece heemed, with some dyneema spider line ran through the heem with toggles on opposite diagonal corners for pulling it tight around the pack or hanging like a hommock.
By all means, let's argue about whether or not a hammock will hurt a tree. All the while ignoring the fact that there is an island of garbage the size of Texas floating in the Pacific ocean. Or how about the fact that over 75% of the world's nuclear reactors are leaking...

Since I don't do much warm weather hiking, my kit is already set up way warm enough for hunting season.

In fact the area we hunt in is so close to the southern terminus of the Knobstone Trail, I'm pulled to just say, heck with the longirons, and just do a couple sections of the KT instead.

I like an extra gear line strung above my ridge line but under my tarp. Carabiner to the top of my bow and it hangs near my feet but under the tarp. All other gear is stored like when backpacking-just a pack hung off my suspension.
