2016 Spring MAHHA Hang Trip Report

    Hi All,

Donna and I are home unpacking the pop up and cleaning up from a terrific hang at Pine Grove Furnace State Park. It is always a very nice weekend meeting some new hangers and catching up with folks that I haven't seen in a while. Although I didn't hike in from Caledonia this year, the time with Donna, my daughter, and granddaughter was a nice treat.

Thanks to all who took the time to make good food and goodies for the potluck, bring donuts for breakfast, and help make the weekend run smoothly. Thanks also goes to those who shared their talents and knowledge with the rest of us.

As soon as we get an official head count, pay the bills, and count what's left, we will post a summary of the weekend.

Thanks again for coming and making it a great weekend of fun and fellowship.

    Tim and Donna

In addition...we didn't have the chance to take any pictures this time. Those that did...please post!

Great seeing everyone! Thank you Tim & Donna for all your efforts. Thank you Amy for the fun, informative 8 mile edible plant hike. I'm still enjoying the watercress I harvested.

Laurie and I had a great time! Will post up pictures and / or video soon - long trip home. I swear my GPS is set to "scenic" we ended up on a one lane road without markings and was almost hit by an Amish buggy before finally getting on I-76 westbound.

Sorry I did not get to meet too many folks. I was only there a couple of hours in the middle of the day so most folks were out and about. Hopefully if my schedule permits I can do the fall hang and actually stay overnight.

Really great turn out. LOTS and LOTS of hammocks. While I did not count it looked like 80 - 90 hammocks to me. Great area for the hang too. Nice job coordinating every thing Donna...You do great work on and off a sewing machine!

Made it to the Ophthalmologist today, Good News !! My eyes are going to recover, it was a form of temporary snow blindness I got from looking at Nutmeg's tarp!

Seriously, we had a great time. Thanks to all who worked so hard and gave so much.

Shout out to @ATrane21 for setting up the slack lines and taking the time to show the kids how to get started. That was a total blast, the kids really enjoyed it and it was fun watching them progress in even such short time. Thx man.

And a very special thank you to all the vendors who donate such great gear and food not to mention the awesome downy goodness !!

Paul and Missy (and Aaron) THANK YOU !! My niece is now the proud owner of a ridiculously nice Zeppelin compliments of MAHHA and UGQ.

And lastly, apologies to any missed connections on Sunday morning, it followed Saturday night... Who was that Fire Maiden anyway? Falkniven's alter ego from an alternate universe?

Was that the neon green one in "C" I think? Everyone seemd to comment on it but I liked it, although I didn't try to sleep under it, maybe that would be different.

Also, WVcamper - nice video - I can see my tarps

No joke there, that tarp was ELECTRIC! You could spot it through the trees as far back as the RV camping area.

Anyway, the wife and I had a mighty agreeable first group-hang experience. Spent a refreshing couple nights among the trees, made some new friends, enjoyed a few quality fire-side chats, and capped off the weekend with a swell compliment from Dutch about our DIY gear. Thanks to everyone for making us newbies feel so welcome!
