Well I got my kit from rip stop by the roll and have started my UQ project.
This site has been immensely helpful in getting that figured out. Using couple different patterns from users here(sorry don't remember right now who's PDF pattern I am using) and pattern from rsbtr.
I have my steps all laid out on paper and started last night with all the fabric cutting. Tonights plan is to get the darts sewn and get it sandwiched. Decided to go with the nylon channels all the way around so am debating whether or not to add the line locks to the ends or not like I received in the kit before I sew all the layers together.
Are there advantages to having those line locks on the ends if I am using shock cord on the long sides? I suppose one advantage would be to have the option to drop weight without using shock cord on the long sides.
The process has been quite involved so far as I wanted to be extra careful to not make a mistake. I will add that I bought the 3/4 length kit but decided to utilize as much of the fabric as possible so making the quilt 45x75.
Happy sewing! I know when using this it will be rewarding to know that I was able to make it myself.
