I am 6ft 2 and most times I use a 3/4 UQ. I use a pillow for my head which also acts as insulation so I am not worried about the UQ being under me at the head end and for the foot end, it my feet get cold I just throw my jacket down there and place my TQ and feet on top of the jacket.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !

Awesome thanks! Yeah even with my sleeping pad I can't sleep with my arm under my head without it getting cold in the night. I think I'll just adjust my UQ to be closer to my head and get a longer one.

How do you manage that at home in a bed!?
I'm assuming you aren't sleeping on your back?
I think it would be a tad extravagant to have a super long UQ to deal with a single stay limb! A pillow or a pad might be a lighter, cheaper option (or just some clothing).

Pick a quillt that covers you from head to toe and add Down Sleeves for your arms:

    They're even Shug-approved.

Not to bite on another members question, but I am also new to hammock camping and I am trying to decide on the hammock gear phoenix 20° or the jrb greylock 3 UQ. I'm pretty short at 5'-5" I live in the northeast and plan hanging spring through late fall, can get pretty cold at night. I think the phoenix is a little longer so I might not have to place a pd in the top quilt. Any advice will be greatly appreciated...... Thanks in advance.......
