Rolled hem foot and bias tape attachment needed...need input

So I have a Husqvarna Oscar 130 thread injector (who are we kidding sewing machine) that I want to buy a rolled hem foot set.

But I would also like to have a foot that can do bias tape also

I found this on amazon and thought it would do most of what I need for hammocks, tarps and quilts. According to the sight the 4/8" means 1/2", don't know why they don't call it 1/2" though. Are the other sizes in this kit useful 3/4" & 1"?

Please share your thoughts I know there are some incredible diyers on here....thanks!

I have this posted in DM area also but no replies.

I prefer to do all the hems manually, sometimes thoes feet dont really work with ultra light fabrics more designed for cotton. More trouble than they are worth for me.

Wish I could help more. I have no idea about Bias tape.

I do use a rolled hem foot for my hammocks. It takes a bit of getting used to, but works great when you do. I only have the tiny rolled hem foot that came with my sewing machine, which if I had to guess, was perhaps 1/8" (the 8'ths are in eights of inches, so that 4/8", is literally just 1/2 of an inch. I think they use the 6/8 and 8/8 just so that the denominator is always consistent. FWIW, the same thing happens with hair clippers... an #3 is actually 3/8in, a #8 is 1in, etc). The 1/8in hem is small, and is harder to use than the larger sizes (less margin of error), but does totally work.

A buddy of mine used a 4/8in foot for his hammock, and the hems do look nicer, and did look easier to use, and still didn't look absurdly large. So I'd venture that the 3/4in would still be useful. Not sure when I'd use a 1in rolled hem though, as I think if I wanted something that large, it would be for a channel, and I do those by hand anyway.

But, Good luck on the selection .

go on Etsy or Ebay and look for Greist attachments. Make sure they fit the shank type of your machine. You can get all those rolled hem attachments, plus more for about $10.

FWIW, there is still skill involved, this doesn't make sewing a hem easy or automatic. I highly suggest learning to do it by hand before trying any of these.

For a binding foot DO NOT get one of these:

They only make 1/4" double fold bound hems using 1" light weight bias tape.

    This works ok:

These work better, if you can mount them to your machine:

What size rolled hem foot comes with it? Is it good quality stuff? Have you used very many of the feet for what we thread inject?

One thing I often do is use an invisible double sided tape that dissolves in the wash... It's a god send for corners for my skill level.

Is it worth the $70 I see it for on Amazon? It looks really functional and easy to use.

I bought mine and never looked back... The tractor style wheel works amazing for the thin slippery fabrics.
