Build your own tarp raffle giveaway at MakeYourGear.com, Enter and win!!!

In celebrating my new DIY site I am going to be doing a couple introductory give-aways this week. I want to promote my new low stretch polyester Xenon .9. Alana, my daughter asked if we could do another raffle where she draws the numbers. This will be an exclusive HF promotion only. You may remember some of the DIY raffles I did on Dutchware and I think it will be neat to do on here since we have an even bigger and growing selection of hammock related DIY supplies.

    Here are the simple rules.

Design your ultimate Xenon sil .9 tarp from www.makeyourgear.com's materials.
List the project and material list in a post on this thread.
All entries must be in by April 27th midnight eastern time
Alana will pick the winner at random from the entriesApril 28th (she doesn't like mean people)
We will send the winner their materials list for free so they can build their ultimate DIY tarp.
    International entries are accepted.
Winner should feel obligated to post pictures when it is done. Pics or it didn't happen!!!

Here is an example, you don't really have to link to the products.

I want to make my ultimate winter 3 sided tarp. it will have doors on one side and a pole mod on the other so it will open like a cave. It will have 3 guy outs on each side. It will be Dark Olive with black reinforcements. and accents. There will be Tarp flys on Lash it and tarp worms with Atwood Micro 1.18 mm
glow in the dark cord for guy outs.

8 yards of Xenon Sil .9 Dark Olive
1 yard of Xenon Sil 1.1 black
    25 foot of lash it
    Pair of Tarp Flyz
3 feet of 1/2 black grosgraine
    10 1/2 beastee D
    2 male .344 poles
    1 female .344 poles
    2 .344 tips
    6 worms
25 Feet of 3/32 shock cord
a spool of atwood 1.18 mm glow in the dark line
a spool of mara 30 gutterman thread dark olive
a sppol of mara 30 gutterman thread black

Thanks Dutcha and Alana! The new site is already off to a great start.

I love your DIY daydreaming project giveaways.

I'd like to complete a 12' Hex hybrid tarp for my daughter's setup. It would have to be color coordinating of course, so I'd construct a bi-color purple and black tarp with purple stitching. The black side would be constructed with doors and the purple a standard hex design, creating half doors on each side of the tarp. It would have roll hemmed sides, a pair of panel pull outs on both sides with a pole mod and 300d reinforcements. Tarp flyz and black Dyneema would be used for a ridgeline while line locs and glow in the dark cord would provide a kid friendly guy-out setup.

5 Yards Black .9 Xenon Sil
4 Yards Purple 1.1 Xenon Sil
1/2 Yard of black 300D pack material (standard pull out reinforcements)
1 Yard black Xenon Sil 5300 (door pull out reinforcements)
    5' black 1/2" grosgrain
    8 Titanium D rings
4 1/2" Beastee Dee Rings for the side panel pulls
    1 Tube Permatex Silicone Sealer
1 Spool Gutermann Mara thread Purple/3529
    4 .344 Male poles
    2 .344 Female poles
    4 .344 Pole tips
    25' 3/32 shock cord
    1 pair Tarp Flyz
    25' of Black 1.75mm Dyneema
    2 tarp door hooks, black
1 Spool Atwood 1.18mm Glow in the Dark line
    6 Line Locks
1 Cuben Fiber Double Stuff Sack Kit (stuff sack)
2 Aerohead NiteShade cord ends (stuff sack)

    Good luck all!

Nice! This is a brilliant contest idea! Thanks for setting it up.

I will be steady strip mining this thread for tarp ideas. If you hear a 40 ton articulated dump truck rumble though your head as you are posting, that's just me carting away your best laid tarp plans.

Ok that is a bit of an exaggeration. I have already learned something from reading the first two sample ideas.

Question is it possible to link shopping cart results page from your site here???

Wow...thanks so much for doing this, Dutch. Love the new website, by the way!

I'd like to make a lighter version of my 13' winter tarp with doors (see pics) with interior poles, which I already have in my stash. My son has become my constant hiking partner and he is now in need of his own shelter (super exciting!). But at 9 years old he's just too big to hang our bridge hammocks bunk style anymore (sniffle sniffle). Here's the dream list:

    - (11) yards dark olive 0.9 oz Xenon Sil (tarp body)
    - (6) yards 1 1/2" black grosgrain (ridgeline and pole pockets)
    - (1/2) yard black 300D pack material (corner reinforcements)
    - (2) yards 1/2" black grosgrain (tie out loops)
    - (10) 1/2" Beestee Dee Rings (corner tie outs)
    - (2) 3/4" Beestee Dee Rings (ridgeline tie outs)
    - (1) spool mara 30 Gutterman dark olive thread
    - (1) spool mara 30 Gutterman black thread
    - 25' Lash It (CLR)
    - (1) Titanium Dutch Hook (CLR)
    - (1) Titanium Wasp (CLR)
    - (1) spool Atwood glow-in-the dark 1.18 mm line (guy lines)
    - (10) glow-in-the-dark Line Locs (guy line adjusters)
    - (3) yards Nano No-Seeum netting (snakeskins)

This sounds great. I would be so excited to win. I've been wishing I could take on something like this. Looks like a great site.
