    Hello from Northern Ireland.

    Hey everyone.

    Brand new to hammock camping.

Been considering it for about 6 months now after an ordeal pitching a tent in a forest when my normal wee spot was taken up already when I got there.

I bought the DD travel (liked the option of possible bivi setup as there's not a lot of "wild" forest here). I added the whoppie slings/tree straps extra and also settled on the DD 3×3 tarp (hopefully it's big enough, it rains a lot here).

Anyway, that's why I'm trying it out, fingers crossed it goes well.....
First trip out will be on the 29/4/16 (end of this month) should everything go according to plan.

I'll be heading out with my camping Buddy who opted for a Snugpak Jungle (I think), it's also going to be his first hang.

Interested in hearing about any good locations any UK members may have found to work towards should I decide that the tent is obsolete....
Particularly interested in if there are other guys (or girls, we'll not be sexist) around Northern (or southern) Ireland, who have found good spots local.....(a long shot I know.)

Also, always interested in doing a possible meet up session (obviously depending on free time/ travel costs etc) if there's anyone out there finding themselves in the same situation of being a noob who would rather sit at a fire with some people than all by themselves.

    So, yeah...... That's about it.

    Dust.

Let me be the first to say howdy and welcome, Dust, from Burnsville North Carolina USA!

P.S. A "wee spot" may mean something different to some folks!

    Thanks Pipsissewa.

    Duly noted.

Just to clarify to anyone who may not understand, on Ireland if something is "wee" it's small/little..... Not the other wee.....

Lol. It's actually unseasonably cold right now where I am here in Ontario. I'm certain there are people snowboarding somewhere. I hammock camp in all seasons anyways.
