    WBBB XLC hang question

    Hi all, very new to hammocks...in fact I've only had 2 nights in mine. I noticed when hung my ridgeline is very tight when I'm in it...nothing like the WB site video where he's able to twist the ridgeline. I set it up again tonight in my backyard and it's quite tight again...trees are just over 19' apart...anything obviously out of whack in the picture? Thanks.

    It looks to me like you might be a little too flat. You angle on the suspension looks closer to 20* than 30*. You might want to try and get higher up on the trees and increase your the angle of the straps to the ground. I've had a similar problem in my back yard. I had to get a small step stool to get my straps high enough on the trees to get a 30* angle and loosen up the tension on the ridgeline.

    Welcome to HF, congrats on the 1st post.

    @lindrome nailed it.

    At 19' you have to be about 7' high w/ the tree straps around the tree.

    hang the foot end a bit higher than the head and then just adjust the length of the lines until the ridgeline has the desired tension.

    Yes, with that distance between the trees the traps should be a bit higher up on the tree. Based off that photo you would probably want to start with the straps at about the top if the vine/ivy on the left tree.

    The wider the tree distance the higher the straps need to be.
