We do not plan out very far, something always seems to happen to advance plans...

Right now I think things are a bit slippy slide in the Gorge. I was up along the old highway, a few too many pebbles coming down to feel comfortabe or maybe I am becoming a sissy in my old age.

I think we have several new members in the Greater Portland/Vancouver area. I think you might find some new partners if you keep this post alive.

Yes things in the Gorge are a mess right now. The snow is finally melting... but that means there is water everywhere! The rivers that feed the Columbia are rushing right now.
I'm looking later in the spring and definitely this summer to head out on some short overnights, etc.

Eagle creek is open, But I spent my three nighter on a rainy car camp: it was a fun camp; it wasn't vertigo mile.

Hello everyone, I live in the Tricities and enjoy spending time outdoors. I started hammocking last year and am getting into hiking as well. I usually go up into the white pass area to camp but am interested in hiking the gorge too. Though I have had a problem finding areas that are favorable for hammocks.

I have younger kids that I often take out with me.

If anyone is interested in meeting up and possibly going on a trek together drop me a line.

If you live in tri-cities, If I lived there, rather, I'd go up into north eastern Oregon, into the joseph area, up around Meeachum, this is a very cold spot for testing and winter camping, coldest in oregon, i'll venture to say. also Hells canyon man, now that is GORGE-ous, deepest in north america, but trees galore in the immigrant springs area. Also hwy 95 in idaho is (esp on a motorcycle) is Americana Classica. For the columbia river gorge, your close to the dalles, and the Klickatack. You're styling.

    Columbia River Gorge

I'm on the Oregon Coast in Seaside and would love to meet up for any of these Gorge hangs if my schedule allows

From Tri-Cities, take a look at the Wenaha-Tucannon Wilderness in SE WA / NE OR (on both sides of the border).

I also recommend getting the book "Backpacking Washington" by Douglas Lorraine
