    Tent vs Hammock Camping

I look at all my tent camping stash, and now I am collecting a ton of hammock stash. I really feel, like my pack will not be any lighter. I understand, not having to worry about finding a flat spot to put a tent, but finding trees can also be an issue.

I just am curious, what tips the appeal to the hammock side?

Yep. Comfort is the main reason.

It is all about being more comfortable. My best tent gear weighs the same as my best hammock gear and they both take up about the same amount of space in my pack.

From a backwards perspective, I sleep so well in a hammock, I've permanently replaced my bed with it. How's that translate to camping? Well, it's basically the beauty of camping with the comfort of sleeping in my home, wherever I am.

God bless hammocks - first night in my hammock and it rained 5 inches. I slept like a baby. That was six years ago and I haven't slept on the ground since.

In my case comfort is number one and I've actually found the hammock to be more versitile in my general area do to lots of trees but lots of roots and eneven ground to that have historically been a reel pain inth butt for me (no pun intended.
