    My NX-270 has arrived!!

Mr. Brown dropped off my Clark NX-270 this afternoon....thrilled! I already had my Hammeck stand set up waiting for it.

I let the net droop according to the instructions (as you see in the picture) and it tightened up nicely once I crawled in and zipped up. The weather shield is already unzipped & stowed in it's pocket at the foot end.

First thing I'm considering is changing out the thick poly rope it came with for some Amsteel or something similar. Maybe look into whoopie slings. I don't know....will think about that one. I already made some Amsteel CL's of various lengths so maybe larks head one on to each end to start?

Great setup! I have the tx -250 and was thinking of getting that stand. Could you tell me what you think of it? Thanks

No trees? Great alternative! A bit on the heavy size, but holds weight!

Slugger...what suspension setup did you go with for the Clark NX-270?

Still working on it. I slept in it last night with the stock suspension, but I'm not happy with those poly ropes. So the poly rope came out today and I inserted 7/64" Amsteel CL's connected to a screw link. Looking at using 5mm accessory cord from the screw link to a Nite Ize CamJam XT which will clip to my Rallt tree straps. I've used the CamJam XT's several times now & I really like them - takes 3mm to 9mm rope and hold up to 500lbs. each. That is my car-camping set up. If I backpack, I'm losing the hardware and going with lashing straight to my tree straps to save a little weight.

I'll get a picture of the suspension sometime tomorrow afternoon and will post it here.

Just curious to hear why you do not like the poly rope that comes with the Clark?

Did you get your Clark yet? You'll see why. Not the easiest to work with or to hold knots.

Here is what I changed mine to...............for now..............

As a matter of fact, while I'm looking at the picture....I already want to change it to simplify. Get rid of the Amsteel CL & screw link. Make a bowline through the end of the hammock (just like the stock poly set up from the factory) with the 5mm line going to the CamJam XT.

KISS - Keep It Simple Stupid.

Mod #2 - got rid of CL and link. Lighter...simpler. Kept the drip ring.
