What exactly in a Knotty Mod?

I'm planning to get myself a Dutchwear hammock, and I am wondering what the Knotty mod is for so I know if I need to get it added or not.

OH! It's a Foot box mod. I thought it had something to do with suspension. Now that I know I'm definitely going to add this to my order since this will be the Hammock I take with me on the AT, and the added safety for my TQ will be welcome.

I bought my dutchware and added the knotty mods not knowing what they were for. Boy am I glad I did that. They do a wonderful job keeping my TQ from spilling out and control the fabric nicely.

Well, it wont' be for a few years. My friend and I both want to do a thru hike. We are both going to do hammocks, but we need to get all our gear together, and save up enough to make the trip. I've been researching on whiteblaze for a while.

I added a knotty mod to my hammock. Helps keep my small pillow from falling out when I move around. I did the head end right where my head goes so the gathered material forms a pocket where the pillow is instead of in the center like some have.
