powerboil, in the interest of full disclosure, I'm curious if you "found this on kickstarter" or if you're part of the company? It seems more like the latter based on your last few posts. Not a big deal either way to me, but it does add some nuance to the conversation.

Got it, thanks. The whole "maker movement" and the tools that technology has brought to us are pretty amazing.

The biggest problem with any "all-in-one" hammock is that you are unable to get into that sweet 45° lay and thus are relegated to the banana....

Right! If frame start/end from edge of hammock. My design, frame floating over hammock. I can extend fabric for asym lay. But big problem is waterproof bottom.

I'd probably make the bottom breathable for the 95% of the use cases, and just carry some polyethylene plastic or Tyvek for the 5% go-to-ground scenarios.

It's re-design again and use more times. My boss need to stop hammock project. so i stop company project and start my personal project (different design and concept, because company already register all in one patent)

A waterproof bottom would be terrible. What I would do instead is give the waterproof upper a 2" lip, but an over sized tarp still sounds better to me. More head room.
