Standard or Deluxe for WB Black Bird

Looking for a lighter tarp for the summer and came across the spinnul tarps at a great reduced weight.

I have the black bird just wondering if the standard had enough coverage for it or if I should go Deluxe.

Any experiences with the two sizes with the black bird?

    Thanks!

    Raul

I would definitely go with the Deluxe. The Standard will *just* cover it, but there is very little overlap on either end. The few inches of extra room under the Deluxe make a big difference in coverage IMO.

the deluxe is where you want to be, the standard is nice, but the deluxe offers much much more coverage and versatility for not that much more of a weight penalty.

    +1 for the deluxe.

here's my wbbb under a deluxe. If you look close enough, you can also see the rock that caused me much distress that weekend.

I agree with Angry Sparrow. My Deluxe covers nicely but not too much to spare. Anything less and I would have less confidence in its ability to cover. BTW, it is a wonderful tarp. It has really done the job in some windy downpours!

I just got the Spinn Deluxe for my BB. Fit seems good, and boy, is it light. You'll love it.

Everyone's comments are right on. I had the same question when I got my deluxe and once I hung it the first time I had concerns about end coverage. I actually survived a driving 24hour rain & tornado watch winds all on the edge of a wide open field without any dampness on my WBBB! I don't have any lack of confidence about coverage now. The spinn also does a good job not stretching when it gets wet and it dries very fast.

I have a silnylon Deluxe and wanted a lighter option, but with a bit less side coverage. I asked Brian to make a Spinn in Deluxe length, but with Standard width. The coverage works well for me and my WBBB, packs small, and weighs only 8.6oz.

My SpinnUL ULTRA weighs 11.5 oz in the stuffsack. Too bad I had to add those heavy lines and MSR Groundhogs.
