    Suspension failure

I had a welded ring fail on me this week, so now don't trust the ones I get from Home Depot. Anyone have recommendations as to where I might find a better made alternative?

I would point you to dutchware but be warned, it's an addiction worse than crack...

Welded rings are famous for failing in hammock suspensions. Yes there are rings that are actually made to hang from for body weight. We still stock a few though they are made to work in pairs as a webbing suspension. Look for rap rings in the climbing department are REI or the like. Omega Pacific makes some good ones.

IMHO there is nothing cheaper or safer or more efficient than cinch buckles. Ti deletes the cheaper part.

The Dutch buckles look like an interesting alternative, but I'd have to take them off each time unless I also use Dutch clips, which look to me as though they'd be hard on the straps.

My favorite suspension system. Simple, quick and works flawlessly. The cinch buckle won't let you down.
