how I knew I could hang.

I am an asstant scout master for a troop in north Texas. I decided I wanted to try a hammock, so I got me a Wal-Mart hammock and went camping. During the summer, I slept great, so I knew I could hang. In January, we went camping and the weather was nice. It was supposed to get chilly, but no rain, so I took my hammock. This was my set up for that weekend. Wal-Mart hammock, self inflating pad 40 degree sleeping bag with a liner, and an afgan under the sleeping bag for a bit of insulation. WELL, the temp dropped to 25, and did you notice I didn't include a tarp as part of my set up? The dew froze on my sleeping bag and it was crunchy in the morning, but I slept warm and comfy. So now looking into a better set up because I am addicted. I know those of you up north will scoff at 25 degrees, but if you tell someone in Texas you did that, they think you are crazy.

Welcome to the dark side my friend. When you upgrade be sure and keep your Walmart hammock. It will be great for yard naps and such. Well until you get into table cloth DIY, amsteel spliceing, alcohol stoves........STOP ME PLEASE. DON'T EVEN MENTION DUTCH.
