The Clark has a lot of bells and whistles and from what I hear is more of a straight lay. The XLC has some coll features and some options too. More of a diagonal lay.

If you can, Go to a hang in your area and lay in a few different hammocks before you invest in one yourself.

I have an XLC and a TX-270 which is the the same as the NX-270 with less pockets and you can open the head end for ventilation. I can't say i like one more than the other they are just different. As Shug said, the XLC favors a diagonal lay and the Clark is more of a straight to slightly diagonal lay. They are both comfortable and well thought out and i would have a tough time picking between the two of them if i had to get down to just one. I like the open feel of the Clark because of the way the poles keep the fabric away from you, the lack of a ridgeline, and the way the bug net and weather shield work but the fabric is a little more course and less stretchy (i have the dl 1.1oz XLC). The XLC on the other hand hugs you a little more the fabric feels more silky. The shelf is great also but i don't like how you have to use the tie outs when you want to pull the fabric away from you because you can't 'swing' as much. (I realize this is getting picky and it's not a reason to not get the XLC). I had the XLC first and my plan was to buy the Clark and sell the one i liked the least... i still have both...

Having a bridge hammock theyre great but I would agree with mjaw on this one. They are very different. different lays and obtain flat lays in very different way. Bridge hammocks obtain it via spreader bars. Blackbird is asymetric and has a foot box which allows you to obtain a diagonal lay flat lay so it is all by your preference. Allot of people swear by their blackbird on this forum and my warbonnet ridgerunner stiching and everything is quite frankly perfect. Can't get any better. Never had any experience with clark though but I have seen them and their pretty awesome to.
