Thanks for taking us along. There was some pretty scenery in your video.

I was thinking of the crazy weather when you gave me a shout out. Loved the ice on the trees. Must have been beautiful to see in person.
I remember those uphills. And the view from the top - well you can watch my videos to see it !!
How was the downhill on the knees and was it slippery?
P.s. for some reason I had trouble with your link on my phone. Here it is for others in case they have an issue

Knees actually did good.Despite the whole up and whole down I had no pain. I guess it has just taken this long to recover from the drilling. I
have been doing the exercises and some cycling so maybe the hiking days aren't over just yet. I'd figure if I can do Hump then more hikes will
follow.
It was slippery in parts but we never deployed traction aids.
Just re-watched you'rs with Poof to show her what she missed=everything=we saw nothing. So looks like something this summer a re-do of the
Hump. Miles are shorter starting at Overmountain of course and it's literally in the backyard.
Now that we've camped at Doll Flats (last time was in 1975) we'll def. stay there again, just a hangers paradise.

The icy scenes must have been spectacular. Thanks for sharing your trip.
Good report, MM. Glad to see you and Poof out and about. Hope the knees are holding up. Sounds like the wind was pretty stiff up there.

Nice report. The area is so hauntingly beautiful!
Brings back memories of my backpacking trip late July last year. The weather was very similar to that, except no ice lol. I want to come back and do it again someday, but I wonder if it's ever sunny there! We hiked from Erwin to US 19, and it was cold, rained, and was miserable pretty much the whole 6 days. I think it got into the 60's once, and this was the last full week of July. When we got home, I found out that a stationary front had been passing back and forth over that area the whole time.
Enjoyed that as with all your vids.......hope you can keep those knees in shape still lots to see out there.
Everyone's support greatly appreciated.
We'll def. be doing a repeat of the Hump this summer for Poof to have another chance at the views.
Group hang at Doll Flats???
If we do go again in the summer that will be my 10th time across the Hump...might have to bring a big of nog to celebrate
