Poof and I went from Overmountain Shelter (of course we had to hike there) to Hwy 19E, up and over Little Hump and Hump mountain Sunday to Monday.
You can image the conditions going over the Hump
We were even cold while hiking uphill. The winds typical and not until we set up camp did I get warm on top of the Winter Whisper and under an Underground Quilt 20F.
We napped and warmed up and then got back out to cook dinner.
Next morning water bottles FROZEN and it took an hour of walking in wool + down layers DOWNHILL to even warm up.
Lows at Doll Flats were 22F=no problem for the Whisper.
I've now learned from the get to to set up the Whispers foot end a foot higher than the head end (Thanks Brother Bones).
Before the nap though I had the foot too high and woke up with cold shoulders-I'd slid down a bit too far. So after dinner
I tweaked the head end up a bit and all was good and then spent a solid 11 hours in the hammock perfectly cozy.
Poof used the ancient Snugfit and was not totally warm throughout the night and very cold after waking and getting out.
So another great experience with the Bonefire Whisper.
