I'm using all Dutch gear here. 1) When I crank up my suspension to get the perfect 30* hang, how do I loosen the whoopie if I over crank it? 2) is it bad to wrap a tree hugger around the trunk a few times before attaching the Dutchclip?

Try setting your hammock at 30* BEFORE you get in it.....no cranking needed fella
Slings get insanely tight when weighted down - even just the weight of the hammock can make it feel impossible to loosen. I've always put my shoulder under the ridgeline while facing the tree, and then loosen the whoopie sling a little bit.
It's okay to wrap the tree a couple times, but not necessary and makes it slightly more of a PITA to raise the straps up and down, slightly.
The constrictor on whoopies works very well, especially the more bury it has. I've noticed the slightest amount of weight makes them tighter, which, in my mind, is a good thing. I try to make sure I got all my adjustments done before I even put my UQ on, but sometimes I need to make adjustments afterward. If I have my quilts and stuff already in my hammock and find I need to make an adjustment, I do different things such as stick my thumb through a hole or loop to pull the weight off the bury, use a trekking pole to do a lift the weight off, or tie a spare chord around the end I'm working on and go around the tree to get the weight off, or tie a chord to the tarp line. I find this issue to not be unique to whoopies either.
A 30* hang angle is inherently loose, so I don't see how you could overcrank the whoopie sling to make it too tight. If your distance is too great, then carry a couple of continuous loops to lengthen the whoopie suspension and establish some slack. Just larkshead them onto the tree straps/huggers to give yourself more slack.

I know this isn't helpful but I had a difficult time readjusting my whoopies too. After laying in the hammock if I wanted to then readjust them they just had too much tension to loosen without having to hold the whoopies at the whipped end of the hammock to take the weight off. I finally went back to Brandon's cinch buckle suspension and have never had an issue. They may weigh an oz or two more but they are worth it for ease of use and simplicity.
