I just ordered the tx 270 livining in Texas i think the tx model will be a little cooler, i like being able to open up the head area for a breeze and to look out. I like the 4 pockets, i know i will have things to put in them but i dont know about 6pockets, i still leave most things in my back pack. If i were more up north i believe i would have gone with the nx. It took me a while to decide wich one , i think the tx meets more of my needs. Hope this helps and happy hanging.

The TX is a 3 season hammock where as the NX is a 4 season. The TX has 4 pockets under it and the NX has 6. I live in Florida and I have the NX-270. I like that if I do go to an area where it is colder, that I have the 6 pockets to help with the warmth. When the weather is warmer I just turn a 180 in the hammock and use the foot end as the head end so I don't have the pockets under me and I stay cooler.

I recently went through the same decision process and ended up with the TX-270 in green. I liked the thought of being able to unzip the head for increased ventilation. If i lived in a northern climate like yourself i would probably have gone with the NX-270. These are great hammocks btw!

Took my new NX-270 out last night for its maiden voyage. Mid-90s and humid during the day, 70s and no breeze during the night. I'm a bit of a cold sleeper and ended up pulling my sleeping bag out around 1am. I could have brought a nice big fleece and been fine.
One thing I didn't realise is how huge those 6 pockets are! I also didn't notice they are more like a 2/3rds underquilt. Either the incubator 20 or the zliner is in the future come fall.
