Thumbs up Bikepacking and Hammocking in Meisville Ravine, MN ----- PICTURES!

Two friends and I biked 60 miles from the twin cities down to the Cannon River at Meisville Ravine. Al and I met here on Hammock Forums and I met Mick through an online Meetup posting. This was the first time any of us met and we had a **** good time. I was using a Mosquito Hammocks Bat Hammock with a custom rainfly and Al was using a Hennesy Hammock system. Mick is also a hammock camper but he didn't have the right hammock insulation for freezing temperatures so he brought a tent to be safe. Our campsite was beautiful and quiet, I will definitely be seeing the Meisville Ravine again.

I made a short video so I hope you enjoy it!

Thanks for the post, it looked like a lot of fun. What were the temperatures where you were? Maybe I missed it in the video but where were you guys camping? Public land or private?

    Excellent trip report thank you.
Do you guys have goathead thorns in your neck of the woods?

Nice report! I'm curious about the bike gear and how you packed your gear.

I normally bikepack with my Surly Longhaul Trucker but I'm building a new Surly ECR for off-road bike packing. It looks like Al is on a fat bike as well.

I go over my bike setup in this video. I put the full build specs and gear list in the video description.

Day 1 was low 60's, night was 40's, Day 2 was low 50's. We camped in Meisville Ravine, Minnesota next to the Cannon River. The forest is public land.

Thanks! And nope, but the trails at the end were covered in thorn bushes and we all looked like we got in a fight with an angry cat.
