I have a kit at home right now to make this same thing. I had bought some remnants to practice on before hand since I'm not a sewing exist at all.

1 quick question, when you sewed it like that diff the feed dogs pull it through? I was messing around with remnants and with no pins or binding holding the layers together l had issues unless I sewed insulation side up.

It pulled it through fine with the insulation down. You might try a little more pressure on the presser foot. I made another today with one layer of 3.6 and it was definitely easier to work with than two layers.

It looks like a great outcome. I just finished my first UQ and I already want to do another and fix my mistakes.
