I used mine last Sunday for the first time in a few hours they turned brown you could see where the aduchable clip was positioned. They are like photo paper.

I personally like the yellow I have this nagging fear that im going to leave them on the tree and not know until im 13 miles away. I don't want to sleep on the ground.

I recently bought some kevlar huggers and they are great; however after seeing them in a picture of my campsite the bright yellow really seemed to clash with the rest of the scenery. I know that may seem rather picky to some, but it kind of bothered me. Dutch notes that they don't dye very well and of course he is correct (believe me I tried.) Anyway, I was walking through walmart and saw a king size black Sharpie brand permanent marker and the wheels started turning. Long story short... it worked perfectly. It only took about 1 minute to color both sides of each strap with the extra wide tip sharpie and it looks great without any bleeding. So if the yellow bothers you, just grab marker and go to town.
I could be wrong but most Kevlar material is mostly yellow

Wonder what a minimum order for one of the vendors looks like and if there is enough demand.
I would be interested. I'm not sure how "massdrop" works but I guess that may be a route. Also, I'm sure Dutch or some other vendor could make a little scratch off of a few interested parties.

The fact that they were yellow and stood out was what I loved the most about these straps. I used to leave my camp or black tree straps behind all the time on trips and now I never forget to bring them because they don't blend into the surroundings anymore.

The economics on yellow is tough enough. I know Dutch had to make significant investment and orders miles of it in order to make the math work. Stocking several colors would be a tougher proposition. It'd be cool if he could pull it off though.

After a year mine are nicely camouflaged with dirt and sap. ☺

Wow they look like they are holding up. I may have to try this as well. I like the weight savings of Kevlar, but not a fan of the bright yellow color as well.

For all of those who want orange I believe Sharpie makes orange permanent markers.
