Update on TATO Gear Hammock Stands

We're not sending out sub-par products here - never have, never will. This, of course, delays our shipment out to y'all but not by long. Rather than send out terrible anodized poles, we just got the first batch back from the powder coaters.

These look MUCH better, and the powder coating effects neither form nor function.

We REALLY hate to delay these - you guys have been incredibly patient all things considered, but like we've been consistent about: You're paying money for a product, and we simply REFUSE to send out a sub-par product. You've shown your faith in us and our products by ponying up the dough before having something to show for it, and if you're gonna be mad at us we'd much rather it be for sending these out later than anticipated than for sending out something you're not happy with.

As always, we're not around here on HF much but you can always reach out to us via e-mail or Facebook.

I will wait it out I decided, especially given my latest physical problems I may become a car camper....may..that and seeing his response here I will wait and counting on the superior product

Trust me, we plan on you being able to use them for years to come. There's a thing in the industry called planned obsolescence, which basically means "eventually, we want you to spend money on a replacement so this isn't the BEST we can offer." That's not how we do things, and we don't take half-measures. We stand by our products, and it's infinitely more easy to do that when you put out a product that's simply the best.

Simply put, we can spend money developing and producing a superior product OR we can spend MORE money fielding complaints, refund requests, and addressing customer issues for years. Trust me, we'd rather spend the money on making you happy off the bat instead of making you happy reactively!

My experience with TATO Gear is that it'd be well worth the wait.

I have my conduit stands from the kits i grabbed last year and they are imo, the best stands out there, Tato was great to work with and even helped me out with some extra's at the time.
If he says they will be worth the wait i would believe him!

This is all good to hear, it's the wait time that started my crazy thinking..I got in at the beginning and got the combo deal with 2 ridgepoles, for different size hammocks. My thinking was that I could use the smaller one in hotel rooms if needed. Or when I stay at relatives

Yeah, i know waiting stinks but i'm sure you will be very happy once you get your stands and will soon forget all about the wait

Apologies if this has been addressed, but the issue replacing the Amsteel (hammock attachment point) concerns me a little. If it degrades/wears/becomes damaged somehow, what are the options? Thanks guys/gals!

i would think you could just thread the loop end of a whoopie sling thru it, but i will be able to tell better when i get mine.

It is just a continuous loop that you can get from many of the vendors. I'm also sure Tato will have replacements also.
