    Tx>Brazos River>May 27-30 - Near Possum Kingdom Lake

    Hello all,
I was planning on going on my first kayaking trip with a buddy of mine on the Brazos river below Possum Kingdom Lake dam between Hwy 4 and Hwy 16 on memorial day weekend. I was able to find some trip reports on other sites but the problem was that all of the reports were from ground dwellers! I was wondering if anyone here has done a similar trip around there that could tell me that there are good places to hang a hammock? And if anyone has some fishing tips for that river and if anyone had any river oriented gear recommendations that would be great and much appreciated! Thank you in advance!

Wish I had advice for you, but I'm brand spanking new at all of this. Just wanted to leave a comment wishing you luck in your journey, and a "Hi" from a fellow DFW'er.

I used to canoe and camp on that section a lot. This was before I got into hammock camping, but I can tell you that there are plenty of trees to hang from. There are many good camp sites on that section and most of them have trees.

Have fun. This is one of the best sections in that area, but is also very popular. You will probably see lots of other people.
