    Post Obligatory MYOG Tarp Photos

I finished making my hammock tarp this morning and of course had to take it out for a test hang to make sure it didn't fall apart when I put some tension on it. I'm pretty sure I'm required to post these pictures so people can ooooohhhh and aaaaahhhh over them right?

It of course has doors on the ends so I'm not sleeping in a wind tunnel atop a mountain somewhere.

The ridgeline was sewn together first, I did a flat-felled/French seam hybrid

I made templates for the cat curves out of paper and pinned them in place through both halves so they created a mirror image of each other.

Made paper templates for each of the reinforcement panels and got them sewn into place with plenty of reinforcing via HyperD 300 Diamond Ripstop.

Grossgrain with nylon Beastee D-rings for tie-down points. The overall material for the tarp is 1.1 oz Silpoly PU 4000. The Seam Grip hasn't been applied yet, but will be shortly after it shows up in the mail in the next few days.

I also ordered some Reflective Glowire to use for all my tie-downs because I know how bad it sucks to trip over one in the middle of the night...

Enjoy a few more photos of my finished work!

Not a bad weight at all...at least I think so.

I look forward to feedback from the experts.

Excellent, love the color and choice of materials.
That will last you a very long time with proper care.
    Well done.

    Wow! Beautiful.

In the first picture I see the end and whipping of your hammock. Did you show it for the photo or is the tarp that close to the hammock length?
