    The Emperor's New Tarp

I don't want to mess up with my fancy-dancy new length of MEMBRANE silpoly from RSBTR, so I made a prototype for my new tarp, with cross-linked polyolefin. (Gossamer Gear call - Polycryo)
The material came out as 300g, but I went a bit overboard with the tie-outs, I wouldn't be surprised if I doubled the weight.
It has a 136" ridgeline and is 118" wide (3.5 x 3m), with asymmetric doors.
A tarp for stargazers and exhibitionists!

Using cheapo pullouts I got off ebay (slightly modded)

Nicely done! Tarp with a view. That tarp would sell very well in scenic areas!

That is friggin sweet! I hope it holds up for you. Just as a prototype it's awesome. If you could find something durable to make this out of, I think you would have a million dollar idea!
    Cheers,

Oh, polycryo is tough stuff. One fella had a tarp up outside his house for two years!

A tarp with a view! Looks like a cutaway drawing of a hammock setup. "When you peal back the tarp layer here's what the hammock looks like underneath its protective cover".

Brilliant design. Be sure to post pics of the final results.

    This is so cool.
What sort of tape did you use to hold it together?
What did you use to reinforce your stake loops and peak loops?(They don't look see through..)
