Looks great!
Looks great!
Van-tastic.
image.jpegI'm only 5' and have (among others)!an 8' DD Hammocks Superlight hammock.
I have some purchased whoopies but don't know how to make. Wondering if I can copy this great idea with poly straps in a Toyota 4-Runner!
Thanks for the idea.
Oooops. Photo supposed to be at end. I've had this Van/SUV "shower cap" since I owned a
minivan. Makes interior roomy and offers ventilation and bug protection (not no'see-um mesh as far as I remember).
I managed to hang in a Toyota 4-Runner. The shortest hammock in my arsenal (gathered a short continuous loop and let the strings hang) is the VERY narrow (32"!!!) 82" (body length only) soft woven cotton (South American style) fabric that came with the Boats-To-Go hammock stand. I can banana hang m, which improves with a ballerina-bent leg. I even do ok on my side. Next step is to find a suitable fabric and stitch along both sides to widen it b
I grabbed some whoopies but they don't have a bead and I think I pulled it (only looked at one) through. So I got a pair of 4' huggers, looped them together and ran them over the roof. This definitely has potential.

GRRR I took the pictures in regular format. Have no idea why they are sideways. Sorry

wait a second, so now i have to buy a van for my cross country trips that can hold my enduro and my grand trunk good UL travel hammock?!? *sigh* evolution never ceases!! i love that our group ranges so widely: grandparents who want a better night's rest, utralight bikepackers that wanna be comfy without sacrificing for weight, dudes who like to build stuff just to build, car-campers who've done away with the whole CAMPSITE AND JUST SLEEP INSIDE THEIR HAMMOCKS INSIDE THEIR VEHICLES this is great!! i'll always look at hanging INSIDE the vehicle now.
