Newbie question about Dutchware fleaz and Lawson cord

Just got my first tarp from UGQ - love it - and set it up with Stingerz, Dutch hook and ties out with fleaz on shock cord. I really wanted to use my 3/32 Lawson cord for tie-outs but it won't fit into the fleaz so used thin guy line from UGQ. Am I doing something wrong or it it just too big to lock into the fleaz? Otherwise, love the tarp and set up! It's breeze - even for a beginner.

Dutchware is generally designed for 1.75mm hollow cordage similar to Zing It. 3/32" Lawson cord is 36% bigger than that and probably not hollow, so it's not surprising that it's not working well. Many people wedge the rear 'antenna' of the flea open a little wider to accommodate bigger lines. Don't pry it open with pliers, or you might break it off. Use a flat-blade screwdriver inserted into the gap under the antenna to GENTLY and SLIGHTLY widen the opening.

Hope that helps! Welcome to wonderful world of hammocking.

the fleaz are made for 1.75mm cord. your lawsons is about 2.4 I think. you will have to spread the wing on the fleaz to accept the larger cord.

tap a flat screwdriver into the slot to slightly spread the wing a little bit.

Yes, it's sad. My activity and speed on HF is directly proportional to the amount of time I spend stuck in the office in front of a computer, and inversely proportional to the amount of time I spend actually hammocking! When you don't see me on HF, it means I'm FINALLY out in the woods!

I find the Wasp easier to work with and you are more likely to find them if you drop them in the leaves ( don't ask how I know this ).
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !
