I'm always hungry! Looking forward to seeing the menu!
Life is short, and sometimes very hard, but, NEVER GIVE UP!
Dutch- I am guessing that what is taking so long is trying to arrange the contract with the Amish family that sells Whoopie Pies at Green Dragon. I am hoping that for each dozen Whoopie pies (various flavors) pies, I can get a whoopie hook suspension.
If you sell Whoopie pies, I might be able to get my wife to hang.
Peace Dutch

+1 on PB whoopie pies, yum-yum!
Every hike begins with the first step and ends with the last one, it is all the steps in between that create all the memories.

Can you pour boiling water into these and re-hydrate the food rather than boiling the bag in a pot of water? There is a big difference in the kind of bag you can use to do that. Generally people use foil type bags to pour hot water into. Most boiler bag are not safe to pour hot water into.
I thought it was the other way around. It's OK to pour boiling water into a basic ZipLoc freezer bag since it will be 212° for an instant, and cooling from that point on. But putting a bag into boiling water and leaving it there the entire time to cook subjects it to that 212° for 10, 20 minutes or whatever it may be. Plus it may be touching the sides of the hot pot.
That link above looks like the material Hawk Vittles uses, but without the zip (please add that!!)
