Ankr™ Carbon Fiber Tarp Stakes … New from Litesmith

Sometimes titanium shepherd stakes just don’t have enough holding power. Our new Ankr™ Carbon Fiber Tarp Stakes are up to 2.4x larger diameter than typical shepherd stakes for vastly improved holding power, yet they’re the same weight at 0.22 oz (6.2 g). Perfect for soft soil, regular soil, and even compacted ground.

They are built to last with twill carbon fiber shafts and aerospace-grade aluminum head and tip. Ultra-strong epoxy holds up to repeated pounding and pull out. No need to baby these stakes.

Available in two lengths – regular 6” and long 9”.

To celebrate our product launch with us, use coupon code HF-Stakes for 5% off all stakes on your order during the first half of March. This code is exclusive to HF readers and expires 3/20/16.

ooh shiny, I wonder how they'd like my 2kg (5lb) hammer. the ground here is either soft mulch earth (6" is to short), or hard as rock (needs a big hammer)

    Looks nice.

Your suggestion is to use these stakes on loose or compacted ground, and they can take hammering.

Can you clarify on how well these stakes hold up to actual hammering? Rocks?

I wouldn't recommend them for frozen ground.

I tested a group of these stakes in five different locations, each with hard compacted, but not rocky, ground. At each location each stake was driven into the ground 10 times and pulled out 10 times. I used a typical hammer at 3 locations and a hand-sized rock at 2 locations. That's 50 insertions and pullouts for each stake. They survived just with damage to the top of the stake head due to the rock pounding. I was sore for two days.
