He hooked another one!

Hi All,

Just wanted to introduce myself and add my thanks. My name is Brad and I live in the North County area of San Diego. I did my 'first' retirement last year after thirty years and decided to do more traveling, camping and hiking. I needed some new gear, so I started searching YouTube for gear reviews and happened on one of "his" videos.

Yeah, Shug got me too! I really appreciate all the effort, information, and entertainment. That was my start...watching those and other YouTube hammock camping vids while recovering from my third knee surgery (played too hard in my younger days/still like to play hard). It was a 10 week no weight bearing recovery, so I watched vids for hours then read a ton on this forum which provided a wealth of info. As most of you know, it's double edged. I would decide on one gear direction, then change to another and another. It's been fun attempting to educate myself, and I'm hooked. Just about ready to start buying.

I really enjoy motorcycle touring, so at times I'll be combining the two. I look forward to hopefully being part of this great community.

Welcome from Kansas. Everything you wanted to know and a whole bunch of things you didn't know you wanted to know is here for the asking. I ride an 05 Road King and have been slimming down my gear. I can fit everything I need now in my saddlebags. I hope you enjoy your stay and have a safe summer riding and hanging out

Thanks! I think I'm most excited about the "whole bunch of things you didn't know you wanted to know". Had to do a double take on my hard bags. If you're just using your saddlebags that is light. May have to hit you up for advice when I camp from the bike.
