Does anyone have a good DIY tutorial for one of these or something similar?

That Madera stand sure looks like it would fit the bill for the OP's search.

I did have a full season with a tripod based DIY set up and it did fine with one exception.
While the typical Tripod X 2 + ridge pole setup works well for a typical gathered end hammock our tests showed that the perpendicular hang designs (Amok) created a situation that unsteadied the tripods to a point and my wife didn't feel comfortable/safe. I was ok, but went back to my WBBB for the go-to hammock.

That Madera stand looks like it could be my easy solution there. I may even be able to ditch the big spike in the ground but instead having the rope connect to something like the bottom of our deck or the bottom of the small, stump we have. That could work very nice. Thanks guys!
