Tarp guy line help.. Tensioner or something like that

So I went on a coup camping trip this weekend and saw a guy with a sweet tarp setup. It looked like some stretchy cord in the tarp and then had a guy line setup to where he just moved this circle ring up and down to tighten or loosen his ground connections. It looked like it was a steel type cordage or nano cordage but I was awesome and only took a few seconds to setup.

Does anyone know where to buy this type of setup? Or are these custom made by a few people?

    Thanks!

This is likely what you are talking about. http://www.backcountrygear.com/msr-t...f_jBoCY0jw_wcB

I have used them and they are ok. I don't think they come with shock cord.
Look up before you hook up!!

I bought a bunch of those tensioners on Amazon for very cheap. Copy of the MSR ones. They work fine, but ultimately I think a plain truckers hitch, like Skurka uses, gives more flexibility and is just as fast once you get it down.

Another similar option to the rings is a Cam Line lock:

Works in the same way but a little lighter weight.

Yes that is basically what it was with some fancy rope work on it. Kinda like a woopie sling type system.

    Thanks for the link!

I use 300lb dyneema spider line for my tie outs, probly about as light as you can get although it does tangal easy. Combined with d.I.y. friction hooks or dutch hook worms and some shock cord they work great and are fast
