Tip 1: Take gloves off at night as you get into your hammock. Over the weekend, I somehow missed the hammock and got all under quilt. Not very supportive. :-)

You are not alone man ,now I know why they don't make shock cord hammock suspension. Great tip!
Have a mental picture and procedure for approaching the tarp and hammock and how you will and can efficiantly, through a rehearsed and step by step modus operandi prepare to remove warming garments and enter the cocoon of comfort. Ecomomy of motion. Breathe deeply and maintain a zen like quaility. Time is of the essence as Winter's rawness overtakes the fleshy form. Entry into hammock preceded by assorting goods and staging gear for the morning egress.

Hang the good hang.
Keep your stove, pot and coffee handy, under your tarp and near your hammock, so that you can make your coffee before leaving that cocoon of comfort.
Most important, I always tarp to the ground, and have modified my set up so it can be deployed with military quickness, and also, with gloves on. (snake skins, and no knots or tying) Minimize stuff so there is no confusion where things are in pack, and pack with stuff in the order it will be set up ie. tarp on top, hammock, then quilts and all the rest under that. Practice loading and unloading over and over. Drives my wife nuts!
Since I retired, some times I stay awake all day, some times all night.
Besides your "BUTT" ending up in the under quilt watch out for your other gear. I couldn't understand why my butt was getting cold until breaking down the hammock only to find clothing had fallen between the hammock and under quilt causing it to hang low in that spot.

Pretty general and common tips:
- Backyard or car camp test before going into the backcountry.
- Hot water bottle (Nalgene or other) in a sock or cozie in the hammock with you.
- Drink lots of water
- Layer your clothing
- Moderate your perspiration when active
Don't let life get in the way of living.
