5th annual Louisiana Hammock Hang

I would like to thank everyone for coming and hanging with us this weekend. We had some really great weather and the turnout was super. It was awesome to see some folks we had not seen since the last hang. Just as awesome was seeing the new people to the hang community.

I would like to thank Clark with Geaux Hammocks for coming out and talking to folks about his hammocks and his hammock donations to the raffle.

A special thanks to everyone that did some cooking Saturday night. I believe this was our most diverse menu ever and it can really be attributed to the diverse group of ladies and gentlemen we had.

It really make it worthwhile for me to see the hospitality from complete strangers. I know it can be really easy to go to a hang where someone else is doing all the work and just sit back. But the help we got this weekend with the cleaning up of meatball fricassee and all the help setting up and cleaning up of the pig. If it was not for everyone's help we three would have to do it all and it is much appreciated.

Again I would like to thank everyone for coming out and making this a great hang and I hope to see you all at the next one.

Had a great time meeting everyone and the food was incredible! Thanks to Jazilla and Granger for doing all the work/planning that went into this. I really enjoyed meeting and learning from everyone and all of the cool items that were donated for the raffle. know others have some pics but here are a few. Can't wait to do the next one!

It was great to meet all of you, and the food was amazing! Hats off to all the cooks! We had a blast and will definitely be looking forward to next time.

I had a BLAST!! Can't wait for the next one. Thank you to all the great people that I met. A HUGE thank you to the cooks!! I have never eaten that good while camping! Had some time to marinate on the hang.

I really enjoyed this weekend. I would really like to thank Granger and Troy(SwampSloth) for their help, I could not do this alone.

Thank you to everyone who made donations to the raffle. It really makes me appreciate all the generosity you guys and girls put forth.

Finally, most of you do not know that a fellow LA Hanger was put to rest this weekend. Some of you met Steve at our 2014 hang, he was with Kenny and Jim's group. Steve passed away two weeks ago and Kenny, Jim, and Herb where kind enough to see him off on the backbone trail Saturday afternoon.

Like Jazilla, it takes me some time to digest all that goes on at the hang. This was our most diverse group yet and it was fantastic. You guys were over the top with the side dish pot luck!!! I'm looking forward to seeing you all next year!
Drifter, Bacon and Space Weasel, your ears must have not stopped burning. We talked about you guys all weekend long. Drifter, Kenny has all your prizes; Bacon, we missed the Hate Beans but missed you more; Spacey...well nightlife just aint the same without you buddy. Cant wait to see you guys.

Really hated I couldn’t make this one. Jazzilla, Granger, SwampSloth, Old River Rat, Wet Paint and Curlee I sure missed seeing you guys again. Maybe next year having to make a living won’t get in the way of having some fun. I see that you had few ladies join in this time. Hopefully they enjoyed themselves enough to make it back next year. This hang looks bigger than the 2012 event that had a lot of folks, what was the head count this time?
