I just got a down puffy from Kmart on sale and was thinking that the baffles are a little small(1") what's your guys opinion on ripping some seams to make them 2" baffles(only on the body)?

Leave 'em alone.
Many jackets use similar size chambers to hold the down. You'll be glad you did!
Thanks for the advice. I just got into the world of down
I have purchased around 20 puffer vest from belk for abou $11 each . Made a underquilt with some and left the zippers on the outer two . Had to add a section about 18" to make it long enough for me as I'm about 6'4" . Left zippers on so I can zip on an extra layer if needed . A little heavier than I would like but for $30 can't hardly beat it . Going to make my twin boys one each also . Any extra down I have left I remove and store in a big box right now but was thinking about seam ripping and adding some of the down to them myself . Diy is fun and also is as creative as one can make it .
That's a great looking jacket....don't screw it up.
They are micro baffles they are very efficient. Lots of mid layer down jackets use this style keeps the down in the right place when moving about

If those one inch baffles work for Patagucci, son, they'll work for you...
I would think that you would also create hundreds of egress points for your down, as well.
