Not a lot of winter left, but I will be at Green Timbers Hang this week.

I may even try to beat the snowstorm on the way and get an extra day

Your stove design is brilliant. I see this project in my near future.

The only issue so far with the stove is the heat transfer to a pot on top, mostly radiant, not a lot of contact surface.
Another option is using a T, invert T up and cap the top for the cooking surface.
Will give it a good test this weekend

You make me want to move to the Snowy North to get into a warm hammock tent. Great job.

Maybe I can make this for a sweat tent in Florida or even a sauna.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

    Florida IS a sweat tent.

Off OP topic a little so don't tell anyone...

...Mid July "No underquilt Hang" in Florida, I needed my UQ and Summer TQ to stay warm and didn't use a bugnet either night. Shhh.

    One sweet job!

FWIW that is about the only man portable way I know of to do long trips in the winter because one can actually dry out reliably. ;-)
    YMMV

The hot tent and stove performed very well over the 4 night trip.

We had about 6 inches of snow and there was no issue with collapse, though it was removed at intervals.
I did install 2 additional pull outs on the long side and have made a sil nylon over tarp for better snow slide off.

The stove performed very well, what I thought may be an issue with to little pot contact was not an issue. the snow melted and the water boiled in an acceptable amount of time

I believe most anyone can make one of these, there are a lot of long seams and it is tedious, but rewarding when completed
