Question Jacket as an Under Quilt

I was thinking about the potential benefits of rigging your parka as an Under quilt. Has anyone thought of this before, perhaps tried it? I know there is a JRB top quilt that you can wear, but a jacket UQ? I'd assure as with any multipurpose item this could be a potential weight saver, but would it cut it in -10c conditions. And for that mater how would you secure it under your hammock?

Awesome, I knew someone must have done it. I am using a CCF pad (3/4 length) and a -7 Northface Aleutian. I may try a Jacket UQ, with a Space Blanket for the ultimate alt-UQ

Took my HH stock ULBP sil tarp, whipped the ends and hung it, w/shock cord, under my ENO w/ a down vest (or two) sandwiched in between. Not as good as a true UQ but it does work and I didnt have to spend any $.

JRB also did a limited run of short UQ's that could double as a vest, IIRC.
