How to Tell Nylon Straps from Polyester Straps?

I have some straps that have the proper weight rating but I cannot tell if they are nylon or polyester. Is there a way to tell?

Nylon straps stretch....some a lot which will change your hang over the corse of the night leaving you dragging butt or quilts on the ground and effecting your comfort in the hammock. Compounding the bad they retract from the stretch ready to stretch out again the next use. Polyester is what all of us reputable vendors offer as it has little to no stretch...as in under 1-2%

Hanging from them and getting a before and after measurement will be the only for sure method. You can also do a search for the burn test....they smell and smoke slightly different but without a known sample to compare to its a bit futile for most folks.
