Funny you say that codiak, that's exactly what my mom said when I asked her for some tips on how to stuff down. Apparently they have the process down to a science. I didn't know they stuffed there bears with down.

It's a fluffy polyester, but the machines design seems spot on for down
here's what I did I recently made my first UQ harvested the down out of down jackets from a small shop vac put the bottom of the shop vac in a plastic kitchen bag put in all the down tied it shut had about 5 ounces in each bag sewed all my quilt up except about 12 inches or so it was a Karo step quilt then cut the bottom corner out of my plastic garbage bag so I had about a 3 or 4 inch whole put it in the hole of my quilt and reached down in my quilt and kept squeezing the down out of the garbage bag and into the quilt while holding the open part of the quilt mostly shut I was well pleased of how little of a mess it made barely any mess at all if I had to do it again I will do it the same way hope this helps somebody
I guess I'm going to the mall to build a bear now.
