    DIY Tied 'Cordlocks'

Saw this mentioned yesterday by user Caminante in another thread, and it seemed so good I thought it should be shared. It's in a thread about where to find mini-cordlocks:

    https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...=1#post1500008

I tried out his method , and it's great. You basically tie a modified fisherman's bend around your drawstrings with a single cord. I tie a loop in mine with the free ends instead of trimming them so I have can move the stopper with a single finger. So far they seem to stay secure wherever I leave them pulled to, though I haven't subjected them to tremendous force yet.

I do something similar using a whipping method but with trimmed ends and a couple more wraps. Works well enough.

I've done it with paracord and some small drawstring cord, been holding up since ~June. It's a pretty neat lock and no chance of cracking...

I do something sort of similar on the fixed eyes for my whoopies and UCR lines.

I use a Cobra stitch made with paracord which will slide up and down the fixed eye and allow me to cinch it up so I don't have to worry about shaking it off the MSH while I shake out my hammock.
In this guy's video, the red cord would be the amsteel fixed eye. I wove mind around a pen IIRC and then used a piece of wire to pull the fixed eye through them.

Here is a another video of the modified double fisherman's slider. It was posted by Chickenwing a while back. Your pull loop is a nice modification.

-nevermind, I didn't check your link before posting ( It links to Chickenwing's video from his thread)

I just did this yesterday on the stuff sack for my new quilt. With a winter quilt i didn't want to have to try and slide the small fisherman's knot with a glove on or cold hands.
    It works great.

The only things I'm worried about at the moment is long term damage to my drawstrings, but I'll keep an eye on them.

I'm going to use some hot pink mason's line I have to make a cordlock on my daughter's hammock stuff sack. She should love that.

The cord lock could wear the line but if you add a few more wraps to the knot and leave it a little loose it acts kind of like a Prussik knot and needs a little pull on the loop to move.

I'll tie some tonight with more loops and give it a whirl.
