I have three. A UQG flight jacket 20* with 2 oz. overstuff and a MAWM Wright (40* or 50*, I can't remember) and a OWL Summer Series. Unless it is getting below 30*, i use the OWL and MAWM in combo to layer. I don't seem to have the problem markr6 has, but then these quilts are so light, they are easy to shove to one side.

I am I the only weird one that when temps are 70 or above, I don't use anything at all? No under quilt, top quilt, or pads.

I try to establish rules and have it down to two sets of quilts: 20 to 50 degrees= incubator 20 and underground topquilt 20. 50 degrees and up= underground underquilt 50 and golite topquilt. It seems to work perfect so far, especially if I include any windchill to the predicted temps. If I try to extend the sets either warmer or colder, then it is either too hot or too cold. I got into hammocking for more campsite and home comfort, not to see what extremes I can survive in. So far, so good!

I'd like to give a big thumbs up to my jacks-r-better no-sniveler 20 degree quilt. If you get to warm you open the Velcro head neck opening in the center of the quilt. Still too warm? unravel the drawstring foot box. The only thing more versatile would be an electric blanket

Give a man enough ripstop and he'll hang himself.

It's always touching at least a majority of your body and simply holds and pumps that body heat out like a furnace. Maybe I'm missing something, but I couldn't find a way to stay covered without getting too hot.
I agree. I have a 20º TQ and a 50º TQ. Just this past weekend I left the 50º at home because night temps were going to be between 45 to 49º. I also got to hot and had take off sleep ware and basically go topless for the most part. Just like the three bears the 50º would have been just right. I still beleive for 3 mid-season-one bag that needs to go cold is a 20º choice; 0º if going deep winter. Up that to a 30º or 4º bag if stretching the other direction and moving towards summer. I now feel the UQ is more important than the TQ and should have adjusted it to maybe help the overheating situation. Above 70º I vent the UQ and 50º TQ or I go Topless! I just love practice!
