Yes, I try to shield her fertile mind from seeds like that. Right when we bedded down last weekend an emergency vehicle's siren went off on the highway a few miles away which set off the coyotes - I told her they were just the neighbors' dogs. She was dubious, but went to sleep. Until the owl started hooting.

and all this time I was shielding her from the Kardashian's instead!

I was at hangcon and interviewed Dream Hammock's Papa Smurf. We discussed the new Sparrow model. My wife has the Thunderbird and though she loves it, her only complaint are the zippers. It looks like they addressed that with the release of the Sparrow. Make sure to do a review when you receive it. I'm interested in hearing your thoughts.

What pack and boots is your daughter using? Did she like them, or seem to be good with them?

My daughter just turned 9. We are planning on some hikes this year and I have been trying to get some info on some gear for her.
