I decided to go with the mesh two piece from mountain goat for my Superfly.

I got the Mountain Goat sleeves last night and put them on the Superfly. Awesome!!! They slide easily and there's no "bubble" in the center that I've seen reported on some reviews online, so I don't know what those people are doing. Just once nice sleek snake once overlapping sleeves in the center.

This isn't really a complaint, but the pockets in the end start a good 6" away from the end. So after coiling up my zingit, I need to make sure there's 8+ inches not coiled up to reach that opening. I was hoping for a simple pouch with an opening starting right at the end. But this is good enough. I really don't need pockets anyway for just a little zingit on each end.

Perfect! No idea why I waited 5 years to do this.

I've got the HH XL's. They're fine, but a bit tight. Since like the idea of mesh anyway, I'm going to pick up the Mountain Goats and see if I like them better.

I love my Mountain Goat sleeves on my KNT12. They make deploying and securing my tarp so easy!

It's also easy to adjust to the pockets. I do a figure eight wrap with my excess line, and just start the wrap where the pockets are. Wrap, tuck, done.

I chose Mountain Goat mesh two piece for my SF primarily because they have a sew-in pocket on each of the middle ends. It makes packing up your tie-outs really easy.

I just found this older but resurrected thread during a 1pc vs 2pc snake skin search. I'm going to DIY another one for a really big tarp. I think I'm going with a single this time.

The only skins I've seen/used are 2pc tapered smaller at the ends, bigger in the middle. Are the single skins tapered? Seems logical that at least one end would need to be as large as the middle. Since I plan to have pockets with the opening at the ends, and I'm going to use small cinch cords at each end as well, is there any reason to taper at all? I'm thinking 2.5-3" diameter straight tube but will first test to see what the smallest diameter is that my tarp will fit through. I'd aprreciate input.

I use single on my Superfly. Easier and no big air bubble to deal with in the center on a huge tarp like this.
    Double on my smaller tarps.

I now have 4 single mesh sleeves. 3 from HG and 1 from Dutch. They are pretty much the same. The sleeve gets a bit tight on the SLD Winter Haven XL; I have to roll and help it in versus simply just walking along and letting it do all the work.
