Have you had a look at the Snugpak underblanket? My wife and I have two of them. I liked the item in this post but it looks as if the Snugpak might be a better choice. Priced the same. The Snugpak is selling like hotcakes. Back ordered in most places until late may. I ordered one of the last ones avail. at Amazon yesterday. My reason for posting this was that I wanted to make others aware of it and thought about getting one of the Yukon Outfitters.

Find a new wife. Mine was always ready to go at only 10 minutes of warning. Being as we where Colorado and Washington, three out of four weekends I was going camping. We always had extra inexpensive gear so others could tag along. This would be such a option.
A canoe or trike to do most of the hauling.
A hammock to take away the bumps at night.
Now that's the way to go.

I have no formula. I have the good fortune to have a wife that is my best friend and she is a real trooper. we love doing things together and she actually loves camping and always has... I am a lucky man.

Ordered one for the GF along with the hammock as an introduction for her. We'll be setting it up in the yard for a test tomorrow and I'll try to remember to report back on quality etc.

How's the weather supposed to be there tomorrow? Here there's supposed to be a -30 degree wind chill and 30 mph winds.

    I'll probably stay inside.

Every day is a good day.

The suspension was changed to cinch buckles and straps for under $10 and her rain fly was another Woot purchase for $19.99 plus $5 shipping. So, for %51 she is ready to camp. I will add an underblanket/quilt for about $50. It will most likely be a Snugpak underblanket and maybe another $20 misc. Not too bad over all. And yes, if she likes it we then might eventually upgrade to one of the high dollar set ups but for now she is in and ready to go.
Pretty much exactly what I did for my son and I! So far I'm happy with it all.
I'm all about finding inexpensive alternatives for things. I, like most, have a fairly limited budget. This means inexpensive alternatives are necessary (at first).

We're looking at an unseasonably warm El Nino Feb high of 69F. Normally we're in the 35-45 range.

Forgot to take pictures, but other only issue I had with it was the shock cord was slipping through the barrel locks. There isn't enough pressure from the spring. It could be remedied with thicker cord or smaller/stronger locks.

Otherwise it's not too bad for an introductory piece for a non-backpacker. I'm not sure how well it'll work on hammocks other than a yukon b/c you can't cinch the ends and the length is matched up to the yukon hammock.
